......putting the SPIRIT back into our community

responding to COMMUNITY needs ...

The vision of a community where each person can work together in harmony and develop real relationships is our focus. Through the various aspects of RISE we will tackle community issues  to enable this vision to become a reality.

Our aim is to develop a united and loving community as the backdrop for our future work. To achieve this vision we have defined our key objectives as;

  • work towards overcoming social exclusion, division and disadvantage.
  • provide a range of support services for families, children, young people, the elderly and other groups within our  community.
  • enable members of our community to speak about and improve their neighbourhoods and community.
  • improve the self esteem and life skills of members within our community.
  • work ethically and in ways which are a living expression of our Christian faith and in all our actions to show God's love and acceptance to all.
We are currently involved in providing the following local services;

  • Stay & Play - helping parents and toddlers under five.
  • Family Befriending - supporting families where disability, bereavement, illness of a parent or a child or even social isolation are involved.
  • Seniors - elderly community support services providing befriending services and community meals, which in turn reduce loneliness and enhances lives.
  • Youth & Holiday Clubs - enabling young people to have fun and develop their social skills,
  • Schools - links with local schools to enable extra-curricular activities to be undertaken.
