Who We Are

Who is the RISE Trust?

The RISE Trust started as an initiative from a local church in Chippenham in 2004. It supported work in the community in 3 areas: Under 5s, Youth and Seniors. In 2006 the RISE Trust became a charitable trust and in 2008 the Children’s Centre at the Oaks opened, managed by the RISE Trust. King’s Rise Children’s Centre opened in 2009 and in 2011 Spring Rise opened.

The Aims of the Trust

The RISE Trust today

The RISE Trust is a significant force in North Wiltshire. We manage three Children’s Centres across Chippenham along with Calne, Royal Wootton Bassett and Cricklade. We provide Children’s Centre services for the Corsham and Malmesbury areas.  The Children’s Centres provide courses for parents and families, run three preschool settings, facilitate a family visiting service, operate wraparound services for schools (after school club and holiday club), provide four Youth Groups, a mentoring service to the secondary schools and one primary school, provide a lunch club for the senior residents of Chippenham. We operate in partnership with other agencies such as Health, Social Services and local schools.

The Children’s Centres provide services for families with at least one child under the age of five.  We offer non-judgemental, impartial, friendly advice and we are always there for you! We run sessions for children and their carers daily throughout the week. We also support courses such as Post- and Ante-natal, Parenting, Back to Work, and work in partnership with Family Learning to provide other courses such as ICT or Numeracy. The Health Visitors run clinics and the midwives hold antenatal clinics at our Centres. Early Excellence Centre @ The Oaks, Frogwell and Charter provide quality term-time childcare. The aim of the Sure Start Children’s Centres is a ‘one-stop shop’ for a family. The Rise and Spring Rise Children’s Centres have been judged to be OFSTED Outstanding.

Risers is an afterschool club operating out of the RISE Children’s Centre. The team also run a holiday club during school holidays.  These provisions are rated OFSTED Outstanding.

The RISE Trust employs a Youth Worker to come alongside children in the three secondary schools and St Paul’s school in Chippenham with a mentoring programme. They also work with a team of volunteers to run an open mixed-sex youth club & a youth cafe, and a boys’ and a girls’ group.

The RISE Community Lunches for the senior members of Chippenham are offered regularly throughout the year.
